Biking Courses
Quiet country roads, endless miles of State Forest jeep trails, scenic destinations—all combine to make the Finger Lakes Region a bikers' haven. And the hills?—well, they build character. (Not to worry, we'll share some tips to make them more forgiving and easier to ascend–which may have you smiling at the top.) We cater to novice cyclists and design the courses to accommodate a range of physical abilities and ambitions. Along the way, we'll cover: dressing for the outdoors, equipment selection and care, bicycle maintenance, riding techniques, safety and emergency procedures, minimum-impact concerns, map and compass use, touring skills, and route planning.

Local Bike Trails

We've compiled a list of the best bike trails in the area. Bicycle paths (very easy) include Cass Park Path, East Ithaca Recreation Way, and Dryden Lake Trail. More strenuous trail riding paths are found in Hammond Hill State Forest, Danby State Forest, and other forests in the region. See the complete list for distances, directions, and more.
