Cornell Team & Leadership Center has run hundreds of professional programs for Cornell Staff departments and other civic and charitable groups over the last ten years. We specialize in customizing our programs to fit the specific needs of your group or team, whether it’s 5 or 500 people. Programs are physically engaging but not necessarily physically demanding, and they can be delivered at your site or at the Hoffman Challenge Course, the Cornell Team & Leadership Center’s site, which is 5 miles from campus. Our philosophy of Challenge By Choice allows you to choose your own level of challenge while being supported by your team.

All of the programs we offer to Corporate Groups are also available to Cornell University staff departments and Non-Profit Groups at a reduced cost.

Team Development

This covers the basics of working together as a team. Communication, trust, confidence in self and others, and enjoying the company of each other. This program consists primarily of ground level problem-solving initiatives—mentally challenging tasks designed to address topics important to your group. ½ day or longer

NEW! Trust in the workplace

When trust is high, performance is high. When trust is low, well…we can help! Engaging and active, this workshop safely helps people to explore their own strengths along with others in the team, then commit to a personal action plan for improvement. ½ day or longer.

Work Styles and Work Types

Whether through the Leadership Wheel, Myers Briggs®, or another inventory tool, we’ll help you understand your place within the context of each of these models, and how your particular style contributes to your team. ¾ day or longer.

Emotional Intelligence

An understanding of Emotional Intelligence as it relates to your own personal and social competence, and how to effectively increase your EI to enhance your team dynamics. This is engaging, fun and insightful. ½ day or longer.

Company Meetings/Retreats

When your staff are coming together from different locations across campus or across the country (or world), we can design a program that will facilitate collaboration and support between colleagues who may not often work directly with each other. From small and intimate departments to those that are over 300, we can help make your retreat memorable and relevant.

The Hoffman Challenge Course Experience

This program begins with a half day of ground level problem solving initiatives and team low elements. As the team grows in confidence and skill, the support and team work continue by donning helmets and harnesses and exploring individual risk taking in a supportive environment on the high challenge course. Your team will navigate some of the Hoffman Challenge Course’s 20 treetop level challenges. The reflections at the end of the day will highlight how to transfer the learnings from the day to apply back at work. This is a fun, exciting, and memorable experience! Full day experience best, minimum 6 hours.

NEW! Sailing and Dragon Boating

We have teamed up with the Cornell Sailing Center and the Ithaca Asian American Association for an action packed day on the water. Internal teams are set to compete against each other with a point system, perfecting sailing techniques and working together in Dragon Boats*. The more the small group collaborates and communicates, the higher the points. This program can be done with 30-70 people. Extra cost involved.
